“Wow! What a book. I had been trying to get a copy of this book for a some time, when I was sent a copy over Christmas from a friend in England. And it certainly did not disappoint. The book really is a cross between a black Guinness Book of Records and an international Black Who’s Who. I found the question and answer format refreshing, with the answers providing at least 4 different independent sources to verify the information. The book which should have been subtitled “Da truth wid proof” (perhaps not) is devided into eight chapters, with clever humorous quotes accompanying the images. For instance a drawing of Hannibal had the quip “Making a molehill out of a mountain” or my particular favorite, a picture of MLK in deep thought with the caption “Dreaming of a Better future”. All in all the book is a fantastic and entertaining attempt to capture the global black experience from pre-history to the present. From the familiar pop trivia of MJ, Beyonce, Bob Marley, etc, to black scientific achievement. I aint seen nothing like it, and in my opinion may in time come to be seen as a watershed for books on black achievement.”
